FOSTER TO ADOPT
7 MONTH OLD MINIATURE POODLE PABLO
LOCATION: TYNE & WEAR
PABLO IS A PUPPY AND HE IS NOT YET NEUTERED. HE WILL BE PLACED ON A NEUTERING CONTRACT.
THIS IS AN URGENT FOSTER PLACEMENT. PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOUR FAMILY ARE IN A POSITION TO MEET PABLO IN TYNE & WEAR IN THE NEXT WEEK OR SO AND CAN FOSTER HIM WITHOUT DELAY. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU MEET THE CRITERIA, WHICH ARE BASED ON PABLO’S NEEDS AND ARE NOT NEGOTIABLE, BEFORE APPLYING.
Meet Pablo
Pablo is an absolutely wonderful young pup. At only 7 months old, everything in life is still exciting to him and is just one big adventure. He is incredibly affectionate, loves being involved, loves learning, and loves nothing more than cuddling up with you on the sofa. For such a young pup, he is very laid back and calm.
Pablo is sadly looking for a new family because he can no longer live with his littermate brother (Littermate Syndrome).

Ideal home: Someone will need to be at home much of the time (work from home is fine, as long as there is ample time throughout the day for training, rewarding age appropriate walks and companionship, and as long as Pablo can settle in the same room whilst you are working) An active loving family home, where Pablo will be placed firmly at the centre of activities and family life.
Current location: Tyne & Wear
Personality
Pablo is incredibly sweet, gentle, affectionate and playful and is a quick learner who loves to please. He loves nothing more than being close to you (preferably on your lap!) and will settle well after a walk or calming activity. He is a very laid back, calm little puppy!
He will want to join his family on walks, trips, coffee stops, days out, holidays - wherever you are, he’ll want to be too. He thrives on companionship and being at the centre of his family and all you do. He is a very easy dog to have around, so this should be no hardship!
As a puppy, he’s still learning about the world, and you must be patient and kind, and will understand that confidence grows with positive experiences. Unfortunately, having lived very happily with his littermate brother, with the onset of adolescence all this has changed, and the two pups are now fighting and can no longer live together. Their owners are overwhelmed and have been unable to identify which of the two pups provokes the fights, but as the other pup is the more confident it is likely that Pablo has been forced to defend himself. It is possible that Pablo will have some residual fear of other unneutered males, and you will need to advocate for him until he has reached full maturity and can be neutered (vet advisory). He will be placed for adoption on a neutering contract.
Ideal Home
Pablo needs a family who will place him at the heart of all they do. You must be fit, active and healthy.
He’d do best in a home:
With ample time throughout the day for enrichment activities and training/walks, and FUN!
Where he won’t be left alone (work from home is OK, provided Pablo can settle in the same room whilst you work)
Where he will be placed firmly at the centre of all you do and is an integral part of your family
Where he can sleep in the bedroom with you, in his crate
Happy to continue his training, using only modern reward-based training methods
With confident, calm handling
Possibly another well matched neutered/spayed dog
Cat free (or careful introductions as Pablo is not cat tested)
Any children/frequently visiting children aged over 10yo and sensible and respectful of a dog’s needs
Training & Support
Support will be provided while he’s in foster, including guidance around his training, and we expect fosterers to follow this advice and guidance and provide daily feedback. Pablo is food motivated, intelligent, and responds well to positive methods, which makes him a really rewarding dog to work with.
Foster Details
This is a foster to adopt placement, meaning you can get to know Pablo properly in your home before we all decide if adoption is the right decision.
All agreed foster costs are covered and support is provided throughout.
Note that foster dogs MUST be kept on lead outside unless they are being exercised in a secure dog field (field hire can be arranged)

T&C
Those who know these dogs will know that doodles are highly sensitive dogs which can easily be sent into a tail spin if subtle signs of anxiety are missed and if resultant behaviours are mishandled. We expect our fosterers and adopters to employ positive, reward based training techniques which these dogs respond well to. We categorically do not support and will not tolerate the use of aversive, punitive training techniques on our dogs; we will take steps to remove any of our dogs should such methods be used. Always seek our advice if unsure about how to approach training – we are here to support you.
Doodle Rescue is run by a small team of volunteers. We regret that we are unable to respond to unsuccessful applicants individually. If your application has been shortlisted to the next stage of our vetting process, or if we require additional information to enable us to fully consider your application, one of our volunteer admin will contact you via Facebook Messenger, by email or by phone/SMS within 3 days of your adoption application form submission. If you do not hear from us within this time frame, regrettably your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion; this is not a reflection of you, but there is only one Lenny! We endeavour to provide sufficient information in each dog’s adoption bio to give an overview of our assessment of the dog and the required criteria (which are non negotiable and based upon the individual needs of the dog) to be considered to adopt the dog, to enable interested parties to assess suitability before submitting an adoption application. We regret that at this early stage of our vetting processes it is not possible for our volunteer admins to respond to requests for further information on a dog available for foster or adoption since – with limited resources and time - we must prioritise finding the right home for the dog and we are grateful for your understanding in this matter. We regret that we are unable to enter into any correspondence with unsuccessful applicants or with those who are considering submitting an application but who have not yet done so. Note: due to GDPR we do not retain unsuccessful applications on our system and a new application will need to be submitted for any other available dogs
Please be aware that our vetting processes are thorough to ensure the welfare of the dogs and by submitting an application you are agreeing to cooperate with our processes, which will include a home check and references, and a pre-foster/pre-adoption meet up and walk with the applied for dog.
