THIS IS A FOSTER-TO-ADOPT PLACEMENT
PLEASE READ COOPER’S BIO CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING. COOPER IS NOT YET NEUTERED AND WILL BE PLACED ON A NEUTERING CONTRACT IF VET ADVICE IS TO DELAY NEUTER
MEET COOPER:
Cooper is an absolutely wonderful young cockapoo. At only 13 months old, everything in life is still exciting to him and is just one big adventure. He is incredibly affectionate, loves being involved, loves learning, and loves nothing more than cuddling up with you on the sofa. A little shy at times, he has some truly endearing little traits and is the perfect family dog. Cooper is very much loved by his family. He is looking for a new home due to sudden change in his family’s circumstances which will mean him being left alone for hours each day, something his devastated family cannot countenance.

CURRENT LOCATION : HAMPSHIRE
PERSONALITY
Cooper is incredibly sweet, gentle, affectionate and playful and is a quick learner who loves to please. He loves nothing more than being close to you (preferably on your lap!) and you will never go to the toilet alone again (he’s a true “velcro pup)! He settles well after a walk or calming activity. He has devised some interesting games which he is very persuasive in getting you to play, such as hiding (or pretending to hide!) a chew under the sofa for you to retrieve! He is a very gentle, loving little doodle.
He will want to join his family on walks, trips, coffee stops, days out, holidays, wherever you are, he’ll want to be too. He thrives on companionship and being at the centre of his family and all you do. He is a very easy dog to have around, so this should be no hardship!
FROM COOPER’S FAMILY:
“Well, what can I say about out beautiful handsome boy Cooper? He loves everyone once he knows them, he’s hilarious when he is trying to tell you off or have a conversation with you, sounds like a motorbike starting! Wont use a dog bed, he prefers the settee. Affectionate always wants kisses especially when he has just drank water! Loves cuddling up on settee, if I have my legs bent to the side of me he will lay on the bottom half of legs. He loves chunks of banana or apple he insists you share! Travels in car short distances not tried long ones, he has a bed and a harness which he is strapped in to, he whines for a couple of mins and settles down. Follows you everywhere even the toilet! Sometimes he will see if your watching and pushes his chews under the settee, TV unit or coffee table and micro manages you to watch you get it for him, or sometimes there is nothing there and he still has you doing he same thing lol! Steals socks if you leave them laying around, or he will find them under you clothes on the floor, he will then sit somewhere waiting to be found, wagging his tail and socks in mouth, we trade socks for a treat. Its all a game to him!”
IDEAL HOME:
With ample time throughout the day for enrichment activities and training/walks, lots of cuddles and kisses, and FUN!

Where he will be placed firmly at the centre of all you do and is an integral part of your family
Where he can sleep in the bedroom with you, in his crate (with his obligatory bedtime treat!)
Happy to continue his training, using only modern reward-based training methods
With confident, calm handling
Possibly another well matched neutered/spayed dog
Cat free (or careful introductions as Cooper is not cat tested)
Cooper is not used to children. Any children/frequently visiting children aged over 8yo and sensible and respectful of a dog’s needs
TRAINING AND SUPPORT:
Support will be provided while Cooper is in foster, including guidance around his training, and we expect fosterers to follow this advice and provide daily feedback. Cooper is food motivated, intelligent, and responds well to positive methods, which makes him a really rewarding dog to work with.
FOSTER DETAILS:
All resident family members and dog(s) must be able to travel to Hampshire for a pre-foster walk in the next 7 days. If you hope that fostering will lead to adoption, you should have no holidays or breaks away planned for the next few months, unless you can take Cooper with you, as this is the vital settling in period. This is a foster to adopt placement, meaning you can get to know Cooper properly in your home before we all decide if adoption is the right decision. All agreed foster costs are covered and support is provided throughout.
Note that foster dogs MUST be kept on lead outside unless they are being exercised in a secure dog field (field hire can be arranged)
Should fostering lead to adoption, an adoption fee of £500.00 is payable
Doodles are highly sensitive, respond well to praise, and do not cope well with negative training methods, including being shouted at or harshly corrected, and we do not permit the use of such methods with our dogs. Cooper learns quickly, is eager to please, and has only known love, encouragement and reward for getting it right in his life.
APPLY:
If you’ve been looking for a loving, devoted, clever little family dog to build an unbreakable bond with, one who’ll be your best friend, Cooper could be that dog!
We’re actively looking for his foster to adopt home now, and applications are reviewed as they come in.

T&C:
Those who know these dogs will know that doodles are highly sensitive dogs which can easily be sent into a tail spin if subtle signs of anxiety are missed and if resultant behaviours are mishandled. We expect our fosterers and adopters to employ positive, reward based training techniques which these dogs respond well to. We categorically do not support and will not tolerate the use of aversive, punitive training techniques on our dogs; we will take steps to remove any of our dogs should such methods be used. Always seek our advice if unsure about how to approach training – we are here to support you.
Doodle Rescue is run by a small team of volunteers. We regret that we are unable to respond to unsuccessful applicants individually. If your application has been shortlisted to the next stage of our vetting process, or if we require additional information to enable us to fully consider your application, one of our volunteer admin will contact you via Facebook Messenger, by email or by phone/SMS within 3 days of your adoption application form submission. If you do not hear from us within this time frame, regrettably your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion; this is not a reflection of you, but there is only one Lenny! We endeavour to provide sufficient information in each dog’s adoption bio to give an overview of our assessment of the dog and the required criteria (which are non negotiable and based upon the individual needs of the dog) to be considered to adopt the dog, to enable interested parties to assess suitability before submitting an adoption application. We regret that at this early stage of our vetting processes it is not possible for our volunteer admins to respond to requests for further information on a dog available for foster or adoption since – with limited resources and time - we must prioritise finding the right home for the dog and we are grateful for your understanding in this matter. We regret that we are unable to enter into any correspondence with unsuccessful applicants or with those who are considering submitting an application but who have not yet done so. Note: due to GDPR we do not retain unsuccessful applications on our system and a new application will need to be submitted for any other available dogs
Please be aware that our vetting processes are thorough to ensure the welfare of the dogs and by submitting an application you are agreeing to cooperate with our processes, which will include a home check and references, and a pre-foster/pre-adoption meet up and walk with the applied for dog.
