FOSTER WITH POTENTIAL TO ADOPT
We’re looking for an active, dog-loving foster home for Arlo with the possibility to adopt.
Arlo will initially be placed on a foster basis. Should his foster family wish to adopt him following his neuter (vet advisory) and assessment period, they are welcome to apply — an adoption fee of £350 will apply.
All costs during foster are fully covered by us, including vet care, food (if needed), and support.
About Arlo:
Arlo is a sweet, energetic, and playful young Goldendoodle who’s looking for a new start after his owner could no longer meet his exercise needs due to injury. He’s curious, social, and affectionate — a young doodle ready to thrive in the right environment.
Personality & Temperament:
Friendly and sociable with visitors and family
Good with children (has lived with kids as young as 3), but due to his size and bouncy nature, children aged 8+ only
Enjoys the company of other dogs — can live with a well-matched, calm, neutered/spayed dog (vet evidence required)
No history of aggression, guarding, or behavioural concerns
Loves human company and being part of family life
Favourite Activities:
Chasing balls and frisbees (though he prefers not to return them!)
Outdoor play and doggy social time
Walks and sniffing adventures
He travels well and settles calmly in the car (though he needs help getting in)
Home Life & Needs:
House-trained and crate-trained
Sleeps in the living room
Needs better recall — currently walks on-lead
Will thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time, or where he can come along with you
Direct access to a fully secure private garden is essential
Work-from-home is suitable if you can regularly engage him with walks, training, and companionship — he cannot be left shut away while you work
To Be Considered for Arlo:
Children must be aged 8+ and supervised; they must be kind and respectful with dogs
You must be willing to have Arlo neutered when advised
No holidays outside the UK in the next 3 months – Arlo must remain with you throughout his foster period
You must have no other unneutered dogs in the home
Experience with active, intelligent breeds preferred
All household members (and resident dog[s]) must be available to meet Arlo in Birmingham prior to foster
You must be fit and active, prepared for a high-energy young dog with the potential to live 12–15 years if adopted
Doodle Rescue UK only supports positive, force-free training methods – no aversive techniques or tools permitted
